We grew up loving beetles and the culture of beetle keeping. We are particularly enthusiastic about hunting, breeding, and specimen-collecting throughout the vast beetle-related hobbies. This insuppressible passion had led us to overcome many obstacles, especially given the immature beetle culture here in the states. We learned that we need to improve the entire beetle community to better ourselves from our struggles. This improvement will all start from the fundamentals: the larvae feed substrates
The lack of readily available substrates here in the U.S. is a blessing in disguise; it allows us to escape the confinement of the traditional preparation of ideal substrates and presents us with the liberty of innovation. Understanding that different species of beetles would require different types of nutrients, we have put in a copious amount of time, effort, and resources into developing our various lines of substrates. We plan to provide the proper nutrients mix catered to your species.
Born and raised in Taiwan, David has amounted much experience in the trapping, raising, and breeding of various beetle species. His extensive knowledge in the field stems from both his personal involvement and lessons from local enthusiasts. He has a comprehensive and professional understanding of various aspects regarding the Hobby
David got into beetles initially under the influence of his father, a nature-loving ophthalmologist. As the son of a doctor, David's childhood activities included readings assigned. Unlike his jack-of-all-trade parents, David was grasped only by the illustrated books about insects. By the age of 5, David could not only identify butterflies in the wild by species names but catch them without damaging their delicate wings. Ever since finding a Kabutomushi as his first beetle with his father, David had arranged frequent and innumerable hunting trips with his family to different mountains.
The hunting had stopped when David relocated to Southern California in the fall of 2016 to pursue his bachelor's degree and a dream to play professional baseball. However, David's baseball dream shattered due to the lack of advice available to an international student like him. Information about the recruitment process, which is easily accessible to the native-speaking locals, was not reachable to those fresh off the boat. This disappointment led David to become passionate about spreading and dispersing information, in and outside of baseball.
Together with Will Chen, David founded Kinshi Pros, a company dedicated to spreading crucial information and necessary products in beetle and mushroom raising. With this position, he is personally making sure that no beetle hobbyists here in the U.S. would suffer from the same information drought he once was. In this sense, David's baseball failure turned out to be a blessing for the U.S. beetle community.
With a background in corporate operations and security, Will brings to the table a sense of aesthetics in the vocation and meticulousness in trade tectonics. He has experience taking small startup operations to over $600,000 in annual sales in less than two years.
Will co-founded an architectural and full-spectrum design firm. The company has established voluminous knowledge and a network of top industry professionals. The firm has a reputation for understanding the city and state regulations and creating thoughtful and efficient operations. Through his diverse professional experiences in marketing, sales, and design, Will can conceptualize innovative product design and business strategies.
Will has extensive relationships with personalities in the cultivation, manufacturing, distribution, finance, and retail industry.
